This page is very special.  This is my Great Grandfather Frank Carroll Priestly standing dockside in Newport, RI on August 8th, 1919. He had just returned from France pursuant to the armistice signed on November 11th, 1918.

Frank Carroll Priestly - 1919 - Newport Naval Harbor

The original of this picture is a roll about 4 ft. long that took practically all day to scan!  He was one of my favorite people to visit when I was a little kid and he would always give me flashlights to take home with me when I left.  He lived in Seattle, WA and behind his house were these woods with blackberries growing all along the path to the woods.  It was the most delicious walk in the woods you ever had!  I had some great adventures in those woods with a flashlight in each hand.  Another thing I remember about his house was that there was always a card table set up in the basement with a puzzle in progress on it.  I would marvel at how small the pieces were!  He LOVED to put puzzles together.
